About
Abbot's Bliss is a 6-bedroom, 4-bath lakefront home in the Carmel Cove community near Swanton that sleeps 16, managed by Railey Vacations. It sits on the south end of Deep Creek Lake at 30 Carmel Lane, Swanton, MD 21561, and its mix of bedrooms, a game room and a separate garage suite works well for extended families who want some space from each other.
Inside the House
The main level holds the living room with a wood-burning fireplace, the dining area, the kitchen and two bedrooms (one queen, one king). Vaulted ceilings and large windows bring in plenty of light. Upstairs, a king suite with its own bath sits beside a loft with a full sleeper sofa. The lower level adds a queen bedroom, a bedroom with a king and a twin bunk, a full bath, laundry and a game room with a pool table, ping pong table and game table.
Above the garage, an in-law suite has its own kitchenette, bath and balcony, with a king, two single beds and a daybed with trundle. That's handy for grandparents or a second family who want their own corner. There's also a home office with Wi-Fi and a desktop computer.
Outdoor Spaces and Lake Access
- Large deck with a hot tub, outdoor dining table, and charcoal and gas grills
- Wood-burning fire pit
- One summer dock slip for a motorized boat, guaranteed Memorial Day through Labor Day
- Community tennis
The house is wooded with filtered lake views, and the walk down to the water is a bit of a hike. Railey notes that the Deep Creek Lake State Park bridge limits boat height, so boats with towers or Bimini tops can't reach this dock, and pontoons aren't recommended. Railey lists Deep Creek Lake State Park and the Discovery Center each within about a mile.
Good to Know
Up to two dogs are welcome under Railey's pet policy. The driveway is very steep, and Railey recommends 4WD, AWD or snow tires from November through March. Firewood for the fireplace is provided in the colder months.
Book online through Railey Vacations or call the reservations team with questions about dates and the dock slip.
