Ace's Run Restaurant & Pub

Ace's Run Restaurant & Pub is a lakeside restaurant and pub at 20160 Garrett Hwy on Deep Creek Lake, part of the Will O' the Wisp property near Oakland. It mixes comfort-food classics with newer dishes built on local ingredients, and it's set up for families, couples and groups alike.

A Family Place on the Lake

The Heise family has been welcoming guests to this property since the late 1940s, and the family photos on the walls of the pub and dining room tell part of that story. Ace's Run has a casual, contemporary pub, a dining room and a balcony overlooking the water. Guests can arrive by boat during the boating season, weather permitting, or by snowmobile in winter.

What's on the Menu

The menu is organized into starters, salads, burgers and sandwiches, entrées and desserts. A few dishes worth knowing about:

• Casselman Creamery cheese curds and blackened tuna tacos
• A warm beet salad and a BLT wedge
• The Ace Burger, the Marsh Mountain Burger and a Reuben
• Seafood sauté over pappardelle, a char-grilled Delmonico steak and maple-bourbon sea scallops
• Chocolate layer cake and affogato

The kitchen works with local producers including Garrett Growers, High Country Creamery, Wildom Farm, Firefly Farms and Lakeside Creamery for cheeses, eggs, maple syrup, honey, coffee, vegetables and herbs. There's a full drink menu for the pub, and a weekly pasta bar night has its own menu.

Carry-Out and Cater-Out

You can order carry-out online, and the Cater-Out menu covers family gatherings, weddings, rehearsal dinners and corporate events. Food comes hot in labeled containers, with gluten-free and some vegan options, and orders can be placed through the website form or by phone. Ace's Run is part of the same family of businesses as Brenda's Pizzeria, Firewater Kitchen and Trader's Coffeehouse.
