Bear Creek Coffee & Creamery

Bear Creek Coffee & Creamery is a coffee bar and ice cream counter in one, in Market Square at 24586 Garrett Hwy #103 in McHenry. It sits in a corner of the plaza beside Shop 'n Save, in the space that was formerly Huey's ice cream shop, and works as well for a morning coffee as for an ice cream stop after a day on Deep Creek Lake.

Coffee, Ice Cream and a Bite to Eat

The coffee side covers espresso drinks such as iced lattes, plus coffee-and-ice-cream treats like the affogato, a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso poured over it. On the creamery side you'll find hand-dipped Hershey's ice cream along with soft serve, shakes, smoothies and floats. Baked goods are on the counter, and breakfast sandwiches have been added to the menu, which makes it a practical first stop of the day. Guests have also mentioned bubble tea.

Part of Market Square

Market Square is the shopping plaza in the center of McHenry, managed by Schurg Real Estate & Properties. LakeFront Magazine reports that the café is managed and staffed by Shop 'n Save next door, and its neighbors in the plaza include Bear Creek Traders. There's seating inside as well as outdoor tables, so you can take your cone or coffee outside on a nice day.
