Cabin Lodge Grill

Cabin Lodge Grill is a casual lunch-and-dinner grill overlooking Deep Creek Lake at 20294 Garrett Highway in Oakland. It's a relaxed place to grab a sandwich and fries with a lake view, whether you pull up by car or come in by boat.

A Lakeside Name Brought Back

The grill revives an earlier Cabin Lodge that stood almost on the same spot and opened in the 1930s, a regular stop for visitors and locals in its day. The new sign out front was built by local craftspeople to look like a vintage original.

What's Cooking

The menu centers on the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, along with a Chicken & Waffle Cone and fresh-cut French fries. The recipes come from Chris Noble, a Garrett County native with more than a decade of restaurant experience around Deep Creek Lake, who plans to bring in more local cheeses, meats and vegetables. The waffle cones are made next door at Lakeside Creamery. You can order online through the grill's website.

Cabin Lodge Grill is one of a cluster of related businesses on the same stretch of the lake: Lakeside Creamery (homemade ice cream since 1995), Deep Creek Donuts, Copper Kettle Popcorn Factory and Fun Time Watersports. That makes it easy to turn lunch into an afternoon, with dessert and a boat rental a few steps away.

The grill is open seasonally through the summer, so check the website before you visit in the shoulder months.
