Callis Auto Detailing

Callis Auto Detailing is an auto detailing business at 4343 Maryland Highway in Oakland, owned by Robert "Rob" Callis. It has been in business since 1990, and the Garrett County Commissioners presented a proclamation marking its 35th anniversary. The county's account describes how the business grew from a bucket and a scrub brush into an auto detailing service for Garrett County and the surrounding area.

Shop and Mobile Service

Callis works two ways. Its heated shop has water, so vehicles can be cleaned in rainy and cold months. It also has a self-contained mobile unit that carries its own water, cleaning chemicals and power. The business calls it the area's first self-contained mobile unit. When working mobile, the business serves maintenance clients only, so full details are done at the shop. Callis says it is fully insured both at the shop and on the road.

Detail Packages

The service menu has executive and express levels:

• Executive Full Detail: full executive exterior and interior, premium wax on paint, full interior shampoo and trim restoration
• Express Full Detail: express interior and exterior in one appointment, with spray wax, trim dressing, UV protection and leather conditioner
• Interior-only and exterior-only versions of both levels
• Wash and Shine, Tires Only: hand wash and dry, cleaning of tires, wheel barrels and fender wells, tire dressing and a quick spray wax

Coatings and Winter Protection

Callis is a certified ceramic coating installer, with coatings for paint, glass, leather and truck tonneau covers. The business says every ceramic coating comes with Carfax certification. For winter roads it offers a road salt and salt brine neutralizer for the exterior, an undercarriage wash, and wool wax undercoating, where the undercarriage is washed and dried before the wax goes on. The county also lists odor removal and spot-free water among its services.

Beyond Cars

Golf carts, side-by-sides, four-wheelers, riding lawn mowers, Razors and farm tractors can also be detailed. Callis is a certified member of the International Detailers Association.
