About
Carefree Wisper is a 6-bedroom, 4-bath mountain home inside Wisp Resort in McHenry that sleeps 14, built in July 2024 and rented directly by its owners through their MasonTyler vacation-home brand. It sits in a wooded enclave about a mile from Deep Creek Lake, the community dock slip and the Wisp ski lifts, with room for several families to each have their own space.
Inside the House
The main level is open-concept, with the living room, dining area and kitchen flowing together, and a covered porch with a gas fireplace looks out over the hillside and backyard. The house has three fireplaces in all.
- Main level: the owner's suite with a king bed and private bath, plus a queen bedroom next to the hall bath
- Upper level: one bedroom with two queen beds and a pull-out sofa, and one with a king bed, sharing a full bath
- Lower level: two queen bedrooms and a full bath with a double vanity
The basement living room has a live-edge wet bar, a gas fireplace and a combination air hockey, pool and ping-pong table, and it opens to a covered hot tub and a second hangout area.
Outdoor Spaces and the Area
Outside there's a large stone fire pit and a grill. Lodestone and Fantasy Valley golf courses are both at Wisp, and Swallow Falls State Park is about 15 miles away. A paved lot holds up to six vehicles. The road climbs a paved hill to Wisp Mountain Road; the owners say four-wheel drive helps in winter but isn't required.
