Christian Crossing Thrift Shop

Christian Crossing Thrift Shop is a volunteer-run nonprofit thrift shop at 2 West 1st Avenue in Loch Lynn Heights, just outside Oakland. Garrett Cooperative Ministry, Inc. runs it to collect donated household goods, sell them at nominal prices and give them free to people in critical need.

What You'll Find

Volunteers sort and display donations across several departments, so it pays to browse the whole shop:

• Clothing for men, women, children and infants, including plus sizes, plus shoes, purses, jewelry and belts
• Housewares and small appliances, from dishes, cookware and linens to curtains, suitcases and decorations
• Furniture and large appliances such as sofas, tables, bedroom furniture, washers, dryers and refrigerators
• Toys, games, puzzles and seasonal sports and fitness gear
• A large selection of books arranged by topic, plus DVDs and CDs

Where the Money Goes

Garrett Cooperative Ministry is a 501(c)(3) organization run by more than 40 volunteers. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for people of limited means: donated goods are sold at low prices, and items are given at no cost to those referred by social service agencies. Donations are tax deductible, and receipts are available on request.

Donating

The shop accepts clothing, housewares, books, furniture, appliances and toys. Please bring donations while the shop is open rather than leaving them outside, where weather can ruin them. Large-item pickups are paused for now because the furniture annex is full, so call before bringing big pieces.
