About
Cove Run Farms is a working dairy farm at 596 Griffith Road, Accident, MD 21520, set in a cove just outside Accident. Every fall the Bender family opens a corn maze there, so the farm is a seasonal (fall) outing for families, school groups and visitors.
A Dairy Farm Since 1962
Oren Bender bought Cove Run Farms in 1962 and raised his family and hundreds of cows there. His son Bob carried on the dairy herd, and Bob and his wife Alice moved into the farmhouse in 1996. Today the farm keeps about 140 registered Holstein cows, 155 heifers and calves, a miniature horse, goats, dogs and cats.
The Corn Maze Adventure
Bob and Alice started the maze in 2001 with a "Got Milk" design, and they have hosted the Cove Run Farms Corn Maze Adventure every year since. Each year's maze has its own theme, and earlier designs are shown on the farm's website. The maze covers about seven acres. Questions posted at the intersections decide your route through the winding paths, and the farm offers educational material and dairy snacks.
Group reservations can be made by phone or through the farm's Facebook Messenger.
