About

Crellin Assembly of God is a Pentecostal church in the Assemblies of God fellowship at 2220 Hutton Road near the village of Crellin, west of Oakland. It welcomes newcomers, people returning to church and anyone looking for a church family, with Sunday worship, a midweek service and a weekly prayer meeting.

Part of the Assemblies of God

The church describes itself as part of the Assemblies of God fellowship while remaining self-governing, a pattern that goes back to 1914, when independent Pentecostal churches met in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and formed the General Council of the Assemblies of God. Its stated heart is to love God, love people and grow together in faith through worship, the teaching of God's Word and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Lead Pastor Mark Howard, an ordained Assemblies of God minister with more than 27 years in ministry, has led the congregation since 2025, supported by a team of deacons.

Ministries and Ways to Join In

  • Sunday school before the Sunday morning service, plus a Sunday evening service
  • Children's ministry with age-appropriate Bible teaching, worship, games and hands-on activities during services
  • Women's and men's ministries
  • Intercessory prayer, including a weekly prayer night
  • Livestreams on YouTube for anyone who can't attend in person

Where You'll Find It

Crellin is an old company town in the Youghiogheny River valley, about four miles west of Oakland along Maryland Route 39, so the church is an easy drive from town. If you're new, the church invites you to simply come, meet the church family and see what a service is like.
