Crossroads Church

Crossroads Church is a contemporary, family-focused church at 17781 Garrett Highway in Oakland, along Route 219 a few minutes south of Deep Creek Lake and north of downtown Oakland. Its stated mission is to help people experience God, find family, discover purpose and transform lives, and it welcomes all ages with a "come as you are" culture.

What a Sunday Looks Like

Crossroads holds two identical Sunday worship services, each about an hour long: contemporary worship led by a band, with lyrics on screens, followed by a message from the pastor. Lead Pastor Dave Marsh leads a staff team that includes care, youth and kids ministry leaders. If you can't make it in person, Sunday services stream on the church website, Facebook and YouTube, and air on local radio station 104.5 WKHJ.

Families get a lot of support here:

• Kids Church for ages 0 through 6th grade, with music, drama, video and crafts, screened volunteers and a two-part ID pickup system
• Nursery for infants and toddlers in the main building
• Crossroads Youth for grades 6–12 midweek
• Life Groups and Serve Teams for getting connected

From a Movie Theater to Route 219

The church began in September 2007 with about 30 people, after the Marsh family returned to Garrett County with a vision to plant a church at Deep Creek Lake. It first met at Garrett 8 Cinemas, later gathered at the Garrett County fairgrounds as it grew, and held its first service in its own 17,400-square-foot building, with a 656-seat sanctuary, in November 2020. The earlier building on the site now houses Kids Church.

Before You Go

On your first visit, turn on your hazard lights as you pull into the lot and the parking team will point you to a guest spot; allow about ten extra minutes to check children in, or pre-register online. The church also keeps a list of local resources for emergency food, financial aid and counseling, and takes prayer and care requests.
