DCL Design Studio

DCL Design Studio is a design firm at 30 Sky View Dr in McHenry, working on custom homes, remodels and light-commercial projects around Deep Creek Lake. It handles a project from the first concept through construction, which suits owners who want one team managing drawings, finishes and the builder.

Homes, Remodels and Commercial Spaces

Douglas Storck founded the studio in 2000 to provide light-commercial and residential design services to the Deep Creek Lake community, and much of its portfolio is lakefront and mountain homes. On the residential side, the studio lists:

• Custom home designs and full sets of construction drawings
• Remodels, renovation and preservation projects
• Kitchen and bath design
• Help with regulations, coordinating technical aspects and overseeing the builder's work to keep a project on budget

For light-commercial work, such as offices and restaurants, the studio works with the client and contractor so the design also meets state, local and federal requirements.

Interior Design

The interior design service covers a single room, a whole house or a commercial space. The team prepares room layouts, makes color choices and selects furniture, artwork and accessories, and it will select and purchase furniture, window coverings, floor coverings and lighting, then oversee coordination and installation. That is useful if you own a lake house from a distance and cannot be on site for every delivery.

Working With Greenscapes

For landscape design, DCL Design Studio works with its sister company, Greenscapes, a landscape design, construction and maintenance firm that shares the Sky View Drive office.
