Deep Creek Donuts

Deep Creek Donuts is a made-to-order donut shop at 20294 Garrett Hwy in Oakland, beside Deep Creek Lake. Every donut is fried fresh and finished the way you choose, and there's a deck with a view over the lake, which makes it an easy morning stop for families and anyone heading out on the water.

Build Your Own Donut

Each donut starts as a vanilla cake donut. From there you pick a coating and toppings, from more than 20 options in all. Coatings include classic glaze, chocolate, vanilla, maple, peanut butter, strawberry, blueberry, lemon, caramel, cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar, or you can keep it bare. Toppings range from rainbow and chocolate sprinkles to bacon, peanuts, coconut, sea salt, mini chocolate chips, Oreos, M&Ms and Fruity Pebbles. Donuts come singly, by the half dozen or by the dozen, so it works for a quick treat or a box for the rental house. To drink, there's coffee plus vanilla, chocolate and strawberry milk.

Watch Them Being Made

Viewing windows let you follow your order from batter to box, which is a fun few minutes for kids. Once your box is ready, you can sit out on the deck and eat with the lake in front of you.

Deep Creek Donuts was started by local entrepreneur Bill Meagher. It's one of a group of related businesses on this stretch of Garrett Highway, alongside Lakeside Creamery, Copper Kettle Popcorn Factory and Fun Time Watersports. That makes it easy to pair donuts with ice cream, kettle corn or a day on the water.
