Deep Creek Pizza

Deep Creek Pizza, listed on its site as DC Pizza, is the pizza counter at Funland, the family fun center at 24450 Garrett Hwy (Route 219), McHenry. It's set up for families who want to feed the kids between rounds of games without leaving for a separate restaurant.

Pizza at the Fun Center

The menu centers on pizza, including a taco pizza, along with subs, fried starters, slushies and Hershey's hard-pack ice cream for dessert. Seating is limited, and the arcade is right alongside, so it suits a quick bite more than a sit-down dinner. Deep Creek Pizza has its own phone line, separate from Funland's main number, so you can call the pizza side directly.

What Else Is at Funland

Funland bills itself as a rain-or-shine family fun center. Its attractions include:

• An indoor arcade where players win tickets to trade for prizes
• An 18-hole miniature golf course
• Go-karts, including a two-seat kart so a younger child can ride along with an adult
• Bumper cars, a carousel and a climbing wall

Rides have height or weight minimums posted by Funland, and picnic tables are available for family outings. Funland also takes calls about group outings and birthday parties.

Funland runs a shorter schedule outside the summer season, so it's worth checking before you head over.
