Deep Creek Wine Tastings brings wine and food pairings to you, setting up a tasting or a chef-prepared spread in your home, vacation rental or event venue around Deep Creek Lake. Christine Cornish runs the business and covers Oakland, Deep Creek, McHenry and Swanton, so it works well for a birthday, an anniversary, a girls' weekend or a relaxed evening in with your group.

The service covers on-site food preparation, setting up the tasting and cleaning up afterwards, which means you get to enjoy the evening instead of spending it in the kitchen.
On the Menu
The current menu is a mix-and-match list rather than fixed packages. Starters include a fresh vegetable and cheese tray, a fruit tray and a cheese board picked to go with the wines. Pairing options run to charcuterie boards, cheese fondue and dips, from spinach, guacamole, hummus, pimento and salmon to hot artichoke, buffalo chicken and crab. There are soups such as broccoli cheddar, tomato basil and lobster bisque, and premium appetizers like spanakopita, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp in phyllo, caprese skewers and bacon-wrapped scallops. Entrees lean toward minis and sliders (crab cake, pulled pork, chicken Parm) plus individual Beef Wellington, with sides like scalloped potatoes and brie in pastry with apricot. Desserts include crème brûlée, tiramisu, chocolate mousse and chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Before You Book
A non-refundable deposit holds your date and is due at least 30 days before the event, and your tasting selections and final guest count are due a week ahead, so plan early if your trip falls in a busy season. Every guest must be 21 or older with valid ID. If you find a wine you like, you can order it and have it shipped to you.
