Double Eagle Ranch is a 5-bedroom ranch home with four full and two half baths at 1240 Boy Scout Rd, Oakland, MD 21550 that sleeps 14, managed by Railey Vacations as part of its Signature Collection. It sits on more than 25 acres in the Boy Scout/Penn Point area on the southeast side of Deep Creek Lake, with fish-stocked ponds and room to roam, so it suits families who want open space and bring the dog along.
Inside the House
Four of the five bedrooms are suites with their own baths. On the main level are a queen bedroom and a king suite with a separate tub and shower; upstairs are two more king suites and a suite with two queen beds, plus a loft reading nook with a sofa bed. The great room, family room, dining room and a kitchen with a breakfast nook give everyone somewhere to gather, and the kitchen has two full-size refrigerators and two ovens for big meals. A game room holds a pool table and foosball. Two gas fireplaces, central air, Wi-Fi and nine smart TVs keep the house comfortable year-round, and the mud room has laundry, a powder room and a dog shower for muddy paws.
Outdoor Spaces and Lake Access
The large patio has a hot tub, and the back yard is fenced. There is a covered pavilion, a wood-burning fire pit and outdoor fireplace with firewood provided year-round, a gas grill, and space for cornhole, croquet, horseshoes and volleyball. The owner's horses live in the side field and are off-limits to guests.
The home comes with one dock slip for one motorized boat. The slip and lake access are reached by a gravel farm lane off Paradise Acres Road that only UTVs and golf carts may use, not regular vehicles; Railey links a map of the route. Boat trailers are allowed and count as one of the five parking spaces.
Good to Know
- Up to two dogs are welcome, subject to Railey's pet policy and restricted-breed list.
- Renters must be 28 or older, family groups only, and smoking and vaping are not allowed.
- From November through March, Railey recommends 4WD, AWD or snow tires.
