D's Eats

D's Eats is a local barbecue business owned and operated by Dalton Smith, based at 314 S 1st St in Oakland. Pit-master Bobby Smith cooks the meats low and slow with house-made seasonings. It's a good option for a casual lunch in town, and you'll also find the D's Eats truck at events around Garrett County.

From Food Trailer to First Street

D's Eats started in 2019 as a food trailer and, in the words of the county's business development office, "a dream." It has since set up its home base on South First Street in Oakland, where it takes online orders for pickup. In April 2024 the Garrett County Board of Commissioners presented the business with a commendation marking its fifth anniversary.

What They Serve

The menu centers on barbecue, including pulled pork sandwiches, alongside Italian sausage subs and hot dogs. Smaller items such as baked potatoes, fruit cups and cupcakes round out the order. The truck still travels to community events and functions across the county and the surrounding region, and the business posts its schedule and event stops on Facebook.
