Escape

Escape is a 5-bedroom, 5.5-bath vacation home in the Deep Creek Lake area of Oakland that sleeps 14, rented directly by its owner, Lake Shore Rental. It has lake and mountain views and lake access, and suits families or friend groups who want private bathrooms and plenty of room to spread out.

Inside the House

Four of the bedrooms are king suites, each with a private bath and a smart TV: two on the main level, both with deck access, and two on the lower level. A fifth main-level bedroom has two bunk beds for kids. The vaulted great room is built around a stone gas fireplace, and a lower family room has a second gas fireplace.

• Fully equipped kitchen with a wet bar, coffee bar and dining table
• Game room with shuffleboard, darts, bumper pool, a card table and a wet bar
• Central heat, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a sound system, a dedicated workspace and board games
• Washer and dryer, a travel crib and a hair dryer

Outdoor Spaces and Lake Access

Outside are an upper-level deck, a private backyard patio with outdoor dining, a fire pit, a grill and a hot tub. The home is not lakefront: the owner lists a boat dock about half a mile from the house, available seasonally from April into October, so plan on a short drive or walk to your boat.
