Fern Hollow is a 4-bedroom, 2.5-bath lakefront home off State Park Road at 91 Laurel Ln, Swanton, MD 21561 that sleeps 12, managed by Railey Vacations. With three levels, two kitchens and its own dock, it works well for a large family that wants lake time in summer and a base near Wisp Resort the rest of the year.
Inside the House
The main level holds the kitchen, dining room, living room and a bedroom with bunk and twin beds. Upstairs you'll find a loft with a queen bed, a king bedroom with a full futon and a powder room. The lower level is almost a second home, with a den and game area, a queen bedroom, a full bath, a second kitchen and the laundry, so two branches of a family can spread out.

Outdoor Spaces and Lake Access
A path leads from the house down to the private dock, which takes one motorized and one non-motorized vessel. Back at the house there's an oversized patio with a hot tub, a wood-burning fire pit, a gas grill, a basketball hoop and a seasonal outdoor court, plus filtered lake views from spring through fall.
Good to Know
- Boats reach this dock by passing under the State Park Bridge, which Railey describes as impassable for vessels with a tower or Bimini top, and pontoon boats are not permitted, so check your boat before you plan around the dock.
- Docks are guaranteed from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
- Pets are not permitted, and firewood for the fire pit isn't provided.
- From November to March, Railey recommends 4WD/AWD or snow tires.
