About

Four Seasons Stitchery is a quilt and needlework shop at 116 Main St. in Grantsville, on Route 40 across from the Casselman Inn. It is set in a renovated school building.

Fabric and Quilting Supplies

The shop stocks more than 3,500 bolts of fabric, including wide backing, seasonal prints, batiks, solids, novelties, flannels, homespuns and Civil War fabrics. You'll also find several types of batting, a large stencil selection, a notions wall, Q-snap quilting frames from lap size to floor models, and quilt kits from wall hangings to king size. The staff can help you coordinate colors and refer you to hand and machine quilters who finish quilt tops.

Needlework

For counted cross stitch there are hundreds of charts and books, including the shop's exclusive chart of the Casselman Bridge, plus Aida cloth and evenweave linens. The shop also carries Brazilian embroidery supplies, EdMar rayon threads, Gentle Arts sampler threads, Weeks Dye Works, Caron Collection and Kreinik braids, stamped embroidery, and the full line of DMC floss.

A Shop With History

Jane Benson ran the business for 26 years until 2010, when Shelley Booska bought it. Seasonally, the shop also displays quilts at the Miller House log cabin in Spruce Forest Artisan Village, next to Penn Alps.
