Fox's Pizza Den – Deep Creek Lake

Fox's Pizza Den – Deep Creek Lake is the lake-area Fox's at 19567 Garrett Hwy, Oakland, locally owned and operated by a Garrett County family as an independent franchise location. It's built around pizza delivered straight to lake houses and vacation rentals, along with pickup for anyone passing on Garrett Highway.

What's on the Menu

Pizzas are hand-stretched, with classic, specialty and build-your-own pies such as pepperoni and taco pizza. The menu also includes:

• The Original Wedgie, a sandwich built on pizza crust instead of a bun, which the shop says started at Fox's
• Oven-baked hoagies served hot, and stromboli with a choice of fillings
• Wings in several signature sauces
• Fresh salads, breadsticks (cheesy and garlic), loaded potato wedges and tenders

Delivery to the Lake

Delivery is handled in-house by Fox's own drivers. The standard delivery zone runs roughly from the Route 42 Maryland State Police barracks, along Rock Lodge Road from the college, to Little Sandy's. If your rental is outside that area, the shop asks you to call, since it may still be able to reach you depending on timing. You can order pickup or delivery online, or by phone.

Catering and Local Ties

Catering covers lake house rentals, family reunions, office lunches, team dinners, school events and parties: give a headcount and the order is sized to match, then delivered by Fox's drivers. The shop also supports Garrett County schools with fundraisers and team meals. Fox's Pizza Den itself dates to 1971, when Jim Fox opened the first one in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania; the in-town sister shop, Fox's Pizza Den – Oakland, is on North 3rd Street.

If you're settling into a rental for the week, this is a handy number to keep on the fridge.
