Fun Time Watersports

FunTime Watersports rents WaveRunners and pontoon boats, runs guided pontoon tours and sells boats from 20294 Garrett Hwy in Oakland, next to Lakeside Creamery on Deep Creek Lake. It's built for visitors who want a few hours on the water without owning a boat, and no boater's license is needed for any rental.

Rentals and Guided Tours

Rentals are by the hour, and you can shape the outing around your group:

• WaveRunners that seat up to three riders
• New 70 HP Sweetwater pontoons by Godfrey, each holding up to 12 people under a large canopy
• Single tubes for towing behind a pontoon
• A boat captain to drive your pontoon, added to a pontoon reservation at least 48 hours ahead

If you'd rather leave the driving to someone else, the hour-long guided tours cover either the north or the south end of Deep Creek Lake by pontoon, with Fun Time staff at the wheel offering a local's view of the lake.

Before You Go

Pontoon drivers must be at least 16 and show valid government-issued photo ID, and the person renting must be 18 or older; drivers get training and a temporary boater's license at the shop. WaveRunner drivers pass a short quiz in place of a license, and everyone aboard a WaveRunner wears a life jacket. Life vests from infant to 6XL come with every rental, a refundable security-deposit hold is placed on your card for each craft, and dogs are welcome on pontoons. Anyone 16 or older who plans to fish needs a fishing license. Personal watercraft aren't allowed on Deep Creek Lake during certain busy summer weekend and holiday periods, so WaveRunner rentals are scheduled around them.

Boat Sales

Fun Time is an authorized Godfrey and Yamaha dealer, selling new and used Godfrey pontoon boats and Yamaha WaveRunners.

Walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed a craft, and everything runs weather permitting, so book online and arrive early to finish your paperwork.
