About
The Garrett Community Concert Band is a community wind band of about 40 musicians of all ages, drawn from three states, that rehearses and performs at Garrett College in McHenry. The band has been playing for more than 20 years and is directed by Dr. Sean Beachy.
Home at Garrett College
Garrett College provides the band's rehearsal, performance and storage space through its music department at 687 Mosser Road. Concerts are held in the Daniel Offutt III Theatre in the Performing Arts Center on campus, including a holiday concert and an annual spring concert; the 2026 spring program was titled "America 250: Music that Shaped the Nation."
Playing With the Band
The band invites anyone who plays a band instrument and has some experience to come and see what it is about, and it rehearses in the weeks leading up to each concert.
