About
The Garrett County State's Attorney's Office enforces Maryland criminal laws within Garrett County. The office was created by the Constitution of Maryland, and an elected State's Attorney serves each jurisdiction in the state. Christian Mash is the State's Attorney.
Prosecution
In District Court the office presents misdemeanor cases and jailable traffic offenses such as drunk driving and driving while suspended. It also presents cases in the Circuit Court sitting as a Juvenile Court. Felonies, jury trial prayers and appeals from District Court are prosecuted in Circuit Court.
Victim-Witness Services and Forfeitures
A Victim-Witness Coordinator keeps crime victims informed of the status of prosecutions. The office is also the forfeiting agent for drug forfeitures of personal and real property, decided in consultation with the seizing police agency.

The office is in Room 200 of the Old Courthouse at 313 East Alder Street in Oakland, the same building as the Garrett County Register of Wills.
