Garrett Orthopedic Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation (GO PT)

Garrett Orthopedic Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, known locally as GO PT, is a private, therapist-owned practice at 13141 Garrett Hwy in Oakland. Since 1998 it has provided outpatient orthopedic therapy for Garrett County and the surrounding area, and it has grown to include occupational and speech therapy.

• Physical therapy, including spinal care, post-surgical rehabilitation and dry needling
• Occupational therapy
• Speech therapy, a couple of days a week
• Acupuncture with a visiting acupuncturist

A Practice With Local Roots

GO PT was co-founded in 1998 by physical therapist Mike Voelkel, who had earlier served as Director of Therapy at Garrett Memorial Hospital. At the time, outpatient orthopedic therapy was limited in the county. The practice offered physical therapy only until 2016 and has since added other disciplines; Steven Holtschneider became a full partner in 2022, and the practice marked 25 years in business in 2023.
