Gosnell Builders is a custom home builder and general contractor with offices at 18906 Garrett Highway in Oakland, on the south end of the Deep Creek Lake area. With more than 30 years of building in Garrett County, it designs and builds custom homes, cottages, renovations and commercial projects for people putting down roots, or a second home, around the lake.

Design and Build Under One Roof

Gosnell's process starts with design. Jeff Gosnell meets with you one-on-one to learn what you want and need in a home. The company's in-house design team then works with Mid-Atlantic architects and craftsmen to turn that into sketches and schematic drawings, which help set a budget early. Those become 3D color renderings and construction documents, and once you approve the design, Gosnell's own crews build it. Keeping design and construction with one team means fewer handoffs between your first sketch and move-in day.

The portfolio is organized into four lines:

• Crafted cottages
• Renovations and remodels of existing homes
• Commercial builds, including retail, medical, institutional and government projects

The company also takes on speculative homes and land development. It describes a commitment to working with each site's natural features and choosing materials for beauty, performance and durability. A member of the Maryland Green Registry since 2009, it has built energy-efficient homes with geothermal heating, radiant floors, tankless water heaters and Energy Star windows and appliances.
