Greenscapes

Greenscapes is a landscape design, construction and property maintenance company based at 30 Sky View Dr in McHenry, at Deep Creek Lake. It works with homeowners who want an outdoor living space planned, built and then looked after year-round.

Design and Construction

Greenscapes describes itself as master planners and installers. A custom design can range from sketches of planting beds to master plans for complete outdoor living spaces. Clients usually meet with a designer and the General Manager, see initial concepts, work through changes, and then get an estimate, contract and installation date, with a walk-through after the work is done.

Construction covers both sides of a landscape:

• Hardscaping: retaining walls, masonry, patios, paver installation, stonework, arbors and fences
• Softscaping: trees, shrubs, groundcovers, perennials and annuals, lawn installation, mulching, bed edging, fertilization, drainage ways and pruning

Year-Round Property Maintenance

Maintenance includes periodic property inspections, debris and leaf removal, lawn and plant care, weeding and fertilization. In winter the crew will treat, shovel and plow snow on your property, and it also offers seasonal color design, installation, decoration and lighting. For a lake house that sits empty part of the year, having one company check on the grounds through every season is a practical choice.

The Team

Greenscapes has been in business since 2006 and is licensed in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Its crew includes licensed landscape architects, certified Master Gardeners, and ICPI and NCMA certified installers. Doug Storck is the founder, and the company works with its sister firm, DCL Design Studio, which shares the Sky View Drive office.
