About
Henline Auction Sales is a family-owned auction and appraisal company based at 52 Crellin St in the village of Crellin, off Route 39 near Oakland. It runs sales on a client's own property or at its auction house, and it is licensed and bonded in Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia, so it's a practical first call if you're settling an estate, selling a business or downsizing.
Auctions of Every Size
Henline describes itself as the area's oldest auction company, with 40 consecutive years of auction service. Sale types include:
- Estate settlements
- Residential and commercial real estate
- Business and industrial liquidations
- Automobiles
- Quality consignments
Each sale gets its own advertising and promotion plan in print and online, and the company has conducted auctions for financial institutions and corporations as well as for families.
Appraisals
Tom Henline, C.A.G.A., provides personal property appraisals for estate administration, guardianships, divorce and domestic litigation, bankruptcy, insurance and the Garrett County Orphans' Court. Appraisals cover household furnishings, antiques and collectibles, motor vehicles, equipment and inventories, and the assets of retail, restaurant, service, medical and professional businesses.
A Historic Auction House
The auction house occupies the former company store of the Kendall Lumber Company, built in 1892. Henline also owns Alder Haus, a shop in downtown Oakland with a changing mix of furniture, collectibles, estate jewelry, rugs and home accessories, much of it brought in from estate auctions.
Upcoming sales are posted on the Henline website, and you can call to talk through an auction or an appraisal.
