About
HighPoint TV & Appliance is an appliance and TV store with an Oakland showroom and service center on Garrett Highway, a branch of the Salisbury, Pennsylvania, store that opened on May 6, 1986. Partners Mark Garlitz and Vernon Yoder started Highpoint Electronics to handle television and appliance repairs and soon added sales. Owner Chris Sevigny opened the Oakland location.
The store sells washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, dishwashers and TVs, with parts, installation and factory-authorized warranty service for brands including Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, GE, Hotpoint and Crosley, plus Speed Queen laundry and LG TVs. Its sister business Diamond Appliance Repairs provides appliance installation, repair and maintenance across Garrett County and the surrounding area, and shares the Oakland phone line.
