Howard's End is a 6-bedroom, 5.5-bath lakefront chalet at 124 Glen Cove Road, Swanton in the Glen Cove community that sleeps 16, managed by Railey Vacations. With four suites, a game area and a private dock, it works well for extended families or two or three families travelling together on Deep Creek Lake's south end.
Inside the House
Cathedral ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows look out through the trees to the lake. The main-level king suite has its own full bath, and upstairs a game area with a pool table sits between two queen suites. The lower level has a den with a wet bar and queen sleeper sofa, a king suite with a jetted tub, a queen bedroom, a bunk room with two twin bunks, a full bath and the laundry. There's a library and fireside area for quiet evenings, with both a gas fireplace and a wood fireplace, plus a Sonos speaker system and surround sound.
Outdoor Spaces and Lake Access
The wooded lot borders the state buffer strip, so you reach the water directly with no road in between. A large deck and level lawn lead to the private dock slip, which allows two motorized boats and is guaranteed from Memorial Day through Labor Day. When the lake is low, typically very late summer and fall, a sandy beach appears. You also have an outdoor hot tub, a wood fire pit, two charcoal grills and an outdoor dining table.
Good to Know
- Complimentary firewood is provided from mid-September to mid-April.
- Pets are not permitted, and smoking and vaping are not allowed.
- Parking is for six vehicles, with boat-trailer parking.
- Kayaks and other water equipment are not provided.
- The Deep Creek Lake Discovery Center is about two-thirds of a mile away, per Railey.
- Railey recommends 4WD, AWD or snow tires from November through March.
