LakeFront Lodge is a two-story lakeside motel lodge at 2001 Deep Creek Dr in McHenry, set on a cove of Deep Creek Lake with Wisp's ski slopes in view across the water. With 20 guest rooms plus a three-bedroom suite, docks and a swimming area, it suits families, couples and skiers who want a simple room with the lake out front.
Rooms
Rooms have eco-friendly bamboo floors and furniture built by a local artisan from reclaimed barn wood. Every room has a covered balcony with a bar top facing the lake, plus a mini-fridge, microwave, TV, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. You can choose from:
- a king room
- a room with two queen beds
- an upper-level queen room with a fireplace and a love seat or chaise
- a three-bedroom suite with three queen beds, a futon and a kitchen area, which works well for a group or a family travelling together
The lodge has no restaurant, but coffee, tea and hot chocolate are set out in the lobby kitchen.
On the Water
Lower-level rooms open straight onto the lawn, where you'll find a fire pit, picnic tables, the docks and a beachfront swimming area. Guests use the lodge as a base for kayaking and fishing in summer, and Wisp Resort's slopes are a short drive away in ski season. The lobby has a fireplace, and parking is free on site.
Before You Go
Three lower-level rooms are set aside for house-trained dogs; ask for one when you book, since only those rooms accept pets. Service animals are welcome. The building dates from 1985.
Ask for a lower-level room if you want to walk from your door to the dock.
