Lakehouse 2.0

Lakehouse 2.0 is a 4-bedroom, 2-bath vacation home in McHenry that sleeps up to 10, rented directly by its owner through their own booking site. It suits families and groups of friends who want a hot tub and a game room close to Deep Creek Lake and Wisp Resort.

Inside the House

The main floor is open plan, with the living room, dining table and kitchen in one shared space, so the cook isn't cut off from everyone else. The kitchen includes an air fryer, rice cooker and wine fridge. Beds are set up as:

• Three king bedrooms and one queen bedroom
• Two queen sleeper sofas for extra guests
• A crib and pack 'n play for little ones

The bathrooms have a spa tub, heated floors and rain showers. There's an electric fireplace, a sound machine in every room and two dedicated desks with wired ethernet, which helps if someone has to work during the trip. The game room has shuffleboard, arcade games, foosball, darts and board games.

Outdoor Spaces and the Lake

A six-person hot tub sits under the covered deck, so you can use it in rain or snow, and the deck also has a gas grill and seating facing the trees. There's a fire pit for evenings outside. The owner is clear that the house is not on the shoreline and has no private dock; instead, the Aquatic Center's boat, kayak and paddleboard rentals are about a two-minute walk away, and Wisp Resort is about five to seven minutes by car.

Good to Know

• One dog is allowed under the owner's pet policy.
