Log Mahal is a 5-bedroom, 3.5-bath log home at 1135 Boy Scout Road, Oakland in the Boy Scout/Penn Point area of Deep Creek Lake that sleeps 14, managed by Railey Vacations. With roughly five acres of lawn, its own court and a dog-friendly policy, it's set up for family reunions and larger family groups.
Inside the House
The main level centers on a great room with a 25-foot stone wood-burning fireplace, high vaulted ceilings and leather furniture, next to the fully equipped kitchen and dining area. A king suite with its own bath, a powder room and laundry are also on this floor.
- Upper level: a loft, two bunk rooms each with a balcony, and a shared full bath
- Lower level: a den, a game room, two king bedrooms and a full bath
Outdoor Spaces and Lake Access
Wraparound decks look out over the wooded setting, and the grounds include a fenced yard, a playground, a tennis/basketball court, a fire pit and a gas grill with an outdoor dining table. The hot tub sits just outside the lower-level doors. The home has a dock slip for one motorized boat, reached by a gravel lake-access path off Paradise Acres Road that is open only to UTVs and golf carts, not cars. Boat trailer parking is allowed.
Good to Know
- Up to two dogs are welcome under Railey's pet policy.
- Guests get free use of the indoor pool and gym at the Community Aquatic Recreation Center (CARC) by showing their booking confirmation.
- Firewood is supplied in the cooler months, and 4WD, AWD or snow tires are recommended from November through March.
- In summer, Log Mahal is rented together with the neighbouring Log Hut as Log Retreat.
