Magnificent View Point is a 5-bedroom, 5.5-bath lakefront home in the Penelacres community near Oakland that sleeps 14, managed by Railey Vacations. It sits on a quiet peninsula at 270 Penelacre Lane, Oakland, MD 21550, and works well for family groups who want a private dock and plenty of separate bedrooms.
Inside the House
Wall-to-ceiling windows run along the house, so the lake setting comes through from most rooms. The main level has the living room (with a queen sleeper sofa), dining area, kitchen, a sun room, a bedroom with two sets of twin bunks, a full bath and a half bath.
- Upper level: a king suite, a queen suite, a bunk suite with two sets of twin bunks and its own balcony, and a loft with a daybed and trundle
- Above the garage: a suite with a queen bunk bed and trundle
Three gas fireplaces and a wood fireplace keep things cozy in the cooler months, and two of the baths have jetted tubs. For downtime there's a ping pong table, a game table and smart TVs with streaming devices throughout.
Outdoor Spaces and Lake Access
A large back deck faces the water, with a hot tub, a gas grill, a swing and an outdoor dining table, plus a wood fire pit in the yard. The private dock slip holds up to three motorized and two non-motorized boats; Railey guarantees docks from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Boat and water toys aren't provided, so bring your own kayaks or rent a boat locally.
Good to Know
Railey lists Lodestone Golf Course about a mile away and Swallow Falls State Park under 3 miles. Pets aren't permitted, rentals are for family groups, and Railey recommends 4WD, AWD or snow tires from November through March.
