Massage at the Lake

Massage at the Lake is a day spa at 1591 Mosser Road in McHenry offering massage, Eminence organic facials, body scrubs and wraps, a group sauna and multi-service spa packages. It's a relaxing option for Deep Creek Lake visitors and locals alike, from a single massage to a half-day of treatments with friends.

A Spa Built Around Its Owner's Practice

The spa is owned by Janet Woods, a Registered Massage Practitioner who is Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB). She came to massage more than 20 years ago as a midlife career change, started the business on Glendale Road and later moved to the current Mosser Road building, which she helped design with local river rock, reclaimed wood and indoor and outdoor lounging spaces.

• Therapeutic, deep tissue, warm stone and pregnancy massage
• Back, neck and shoulder or head, neck and shoulder sessions, plus a Treat Your Feet massage
• Couples massage in a private room (booked by phone)

• Add-ons such as aromatherapy, hand and back refreshers and cool therapy for sore muscles

Packages combine these into longer visits, including the Pamper Me Deluxe, Ultimate Refresher and two men's options, The Polished Man and the Gentleman's Grooming Retreat.

Sauna and Before You Go

The sauna seats up to six to eight guests in 30-minute sessions, with a shower, robes and towels, water and tea on hand; charcuterie boards can be arranged when you book. Standard services can be booked online any time, while couples' massages, spa parties and small corporate retreats are arranged by phone. A credit card holds your reservation.
