About
Mountain Lake Press is a book publisher based on D Street in Mountain Lake Park. It was founded in 2008 by two author-editors and releases fiction and non-fiction titles in hardcover, quality paperback, ebook and unabridged audio editions.
Its first title was Requiem for the Bone Man, the debut novel by R.A. Comunale, M.D., followed the same year by the fourth edition of Phil Berardelli's Safe Young Drivers: A Guide for Parents and Teens. The catalog has since grown to include The Craft We Chose: My Life in the CIA by Richard L. Holm, Charles Long's opera memoir Adventures in the Scream Trade, André Le Gallo's spy trilogy, Melanie Forde's Hillwilla novels set in West Virginia, Luke Bencie's books on business-travel security and consulting, and Phil Berardelli's driving guides and movie-recommendation books. In 2012 the press started D Street Books, an imprint for electronic and audio titles.
In 2015 the Library of Congress selected the press's audio versions of R.A. Comunale's novels and Charles Long's memoir for its national Books for the Blind program. Its newest release, IMAGINE Winning the New Cold War, gathers essays by fifty experts in national security, military intelligence and global politics on how the United States can prevail against China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.
