Mountain Valley Produce

Mountain Valley Produce is a second-generation family farm at 904 Wes White Road, south of Oakland, growing 35 acres of produce for its seasonal farm stand. You'll find hand-picked vegetables, berries and squash in season, farm-fresh eggs year-round, and bushel quantities if you're putting food up for winter.

A Farm Going Back to 1984

The farm began in 1984, when Paul and Naomi Petersheim planted their first field of Blue Lake green beans. It was founded on a commitment to nutrient-dense food grown with organic methods, and today Kevin and Becca Coblentz run it with their four children, carrying those same values forward. The farm describes its fruits and vegetables as non-GMO, and in 2023 it added farm-fresh eggs, which are sold at the stand all year.

What's at the Farm Stand

The farm's catalog changes with the season and has included:

• Tomatoes: large and small slicers, Roma and cherry
• Sweet peppers such as bell, Cubanelle and sweet banana, and hot peppers including habanero, Hungarian wax, Inferno and jalapeño
• Potatoes: Eva, Huckleberry Gold and Kennebec
• Squash and gourds: butternut, spaghetti, yellow squash, zucchini, pumpkins, mini pumpkins and decorative gourds
• Corn, cucumbers, green beans, onions, red beets and rhubarb
• Black, horticulture and kidney beans
• Strawberries and blackberries
• Pantry items such as granola and local maple syrup
• Eggs in small and large sizes

Buying by the Bushel

Many in-season items are sold by the bushel as well as individually, which is useful if you're canning tomatoes or stocking up on potatoes. Call the farm to place a seasonal bushel order, and to check what's available before you make the drive out Wes White Road.
