Naylor's Ace Hardware

Naylor's Ace Hardware is a family hardware store at 32 South Third Street in downtown Oakland, run by A.D. Naylor & Co. and affiliated with Ace Hardware. It stocks the tools, paint and supplies that homeowners, contractors and lake-house owners across Garrett County reach for every week.

A Store With 140 Years of History

The business traces back to 1884, when Alonzo D. Naylor bought a blacksmith shop on Liberty Street in Oakland and turned it into a store. It later moved to its current Third Street home, and in June 2024 the company marked its 140th anniversary with equipment demonstrations and a Milestone Commendation from Garrett County Business Development, the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce and the County Commissioners. Local leaders singled out the staff's customer service as part of the A.D. Naylor legacy.
