About
Oakland Dog Park is a fenced, off-leash dog park run by the Town of Oakland at 27 Oakland Rosedale Road. It sits along the town walking trail, and it gives well-behaved dogs a clean, safe place to run and play, free of charge.
What You'll Find
The park is fully fenced, with a main double gate so dogs can be unleashed safely after you are inside. Play equipment inside the fence is meant for dogs only. Because it is on the town walking trail, you can pair a few laps of off-leash play with an on-leash walk.
Park Rules
The Town of Oakland posts these rules for everyone's safety:
- Use is at your own risk, and an adult must supervise dogs at all times
- Children under 12 must be with an adult, and small children and infants are not recommended
- Carry a leash at all times, and leash your dog before entering and before leaving
- Dogs must wear a collar with an ID tag
- Clean up after your dog
- Dogs with aggressive tendencies are not allowed
- Be considerate of other dogs and their owners
Before You Go
To report a rule violation, the town lists its own line (301-334-3253) and Garrett County Animal Control (301-334-3553). For general questions, call the Town of Oakland office.
Bring a leash, an ID-tagged collar and a few clean-up bags, and your dog is ready to go.
