About
Pine Grove Church is a Covenant Brethren Church congregation at 5792 Oakland Sang Run Road, about seven miles north of Oakland. Long known as Pine Grove Church of the Brethren, it is a country church where neighbours from along Sang Run Road and beyond gather for Sunday worship and Bible teaching.
Faith Lived Out at Home First
The congregation states its mission as "to go into all the world and proclaim the Good News of the Gospel," and it is clear that the work starts close to home, with the people the church meets every day. In its own description, Pine Grove puts weight on discipleship through teaching and personal example, on visiting members in their homes, and on working through disagreements with Scripture and prayer. Alongside Sunday morning worship, the church has held Sunday evening services and other gatherings and events through the year.
Part of the Covenant Brethren Church
Pine Grove is listed in the Central Allegheny Region of the Covenant Brethren Church, the denomination formed in 2022–23 by congregations that left the Church of the Brethren. The church keeps the Brethren pattern of shared leadership, with a Ministerial Board guiding its pastoral ministry.
