Pine Lodge Steakhouse

Pine Lodge Steakhouse is a locally owned steakhouse and bar at 1520 Deep Creek Drive in McHenry, just off Route 219 and a few minutes from Deep Creek Lake and Wisp Resort. Since 2002 it has served hand-cut steaks, seafood and bourbon in a log-lodge setting to locals and visitors alike.

Steaks, Crab and Lodge Classics

Steaks are hand-cut and cooked to the temperature you ask for. The dinner menu runs from the Trailboss Porterhouse, Cowboy Ribeye, New York Strip and Filet Mignon to prime rib (offered on select evenings while it lasts) and Moonshine Ribs. Maryland favorites have a strong showing too:

• Crab cakes (listed as gluten-free), McHenry Crab Dip and the house creamy crab soup
• Steak-and-seafood combos such as Lobster Tail & Filet and Crab Cake and NY Strip
• Appetizers like Mountainous Prime Rib Bites and Seared Scallops with Bacon Jam
• Saloon fare including a Bison Burger, The Marylander and the Cattleman's Prime Rib Sandwich

There's also pasta and poultry (Mildred's Spring Chicken), weekly specials and a separate kids menu. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available; let your server know about allergies.

The Bar and the Lodge

The full bar pours cocktails, beer, wine and an extensive list of specialty bourbons. The lodge-style rooms have multiple fireplaces, and in good weather there's outdoor dining, with a dog-friendly patio outside the bar.

Before You Go

Reservations are made through the website and are recommended on weekends, holidays and in peak seasons; the bar and lounge are first come, first served. Free parking is on site, and the main entrance is on the lower level, so head for the lower lot. Takeout is available, large groups are welcome with notice, and casual dress is fine. The restaurant is about a half mile from the Garrett County Fairgrounds, which makes it handy during fair week.

It's a natural spot for a hearty dinner after a day on the lake or the slopes at Wisp.
