Preferred Lawn

Preferred Lawn is a year-round lawn care, landscaping and snow removal business serving properties in western Maryland around Deep Creek Lake. Owner Lydell Savage has run the business for nearly 30 years, and it works from Oakland, MD.

Lawn and Landscape Care Through the Seasons

The crew handles most routine property upkeep, so one call can cover the whole year:

• Mowing and string trimming
• Mulch bed installation, plus other ground cover such as river rock
• Pruning of shrubs and most trees
• Fertilization and weed control for lawns and mulch beds, applied by Maryland-certified staff, along with monitoring of trees and shrubs for disease and insects
• Leaf removal and spring cleanups

Docks and Snow

For lakefront owners, Preferred Lawn installs docks in the lake and removes them at the end of the summer season, and it can make repairs such as replacing a ladder or a broken piece. In winter the staff clears snow from driveways and walkways and applies salt so paths stay safe to walk.
