About

The Preston County Chamber of Commerce is the business association for Preston County, West Virginia, with its office in Kingwood. It grew out of an exploratory meeting held at Alpine Lake in Terra Alta in 1987, was formed a year later, and opened its first office in Kingwood in 1989. The chamber's mission is to take a leadership role in enhancing the county's business environment through economic, governmental, educational and civic affairs, with concern for the present and long-term interests of its members.

Member Services

The chamber promotes member businesses through its member directory and calendar of events, and helps members connect with customers and other professionals at networking events. Its Lunch and Learn seminars offer professional development, and it reports more than 180 members across fields such as finance and insurance, government, education and personal services.

Events

The chamber runs more than 20 events through the year, including Business After Hours, ribbon cuttings, a golf scramble, a State of the County program, a farm and agriculture luncheon, a farm-to-table dinner, a job fair, its Annual Dinner, a Shop Small event and Preston County Day at the Legislature. It also takes part in community events such as the Buckwheat Festival and local parades, and co-hosts the North Central West Virginia Business Summit with the Harrison, Marion and Morgantown chambers.
