Schrock's Country Store

Schrock's Country Store is a family-owned country market at 3356 Underwood Road, out in the farm country south of Oakland. It combines a bulk food store, a deli counter and a showroom of handcrafted rustic furniture, so it's a useful stop whether you're stocking a cabin pantry or furnishing one.

Food, Deli and Treats

The bulk food aisles cover baking needs (flours, mixes, sprinkles, extracts), spices and canning supplies, dried fruit, nuts, pasta and cereal, candy, snacks, jams and spreads, honey and syrup, plus gluten-free and specialty items and Jake & Amos pickled and jarred goods. The deli slices meats and cheeses from Ohio's Amish country and makes sandwiches to order on homemade bread. For something sweet, there's soft serve ice cream, milkshakes and kettle corn made on site and sold by the bag.

Handcrafted Rustic Furniture

The furniture side features one-of-a-kind log and rustic pieces made by Amish builders in hickory, aspen, pine, red cedar, walnut and reclaimed wood, and pieces can be customized. Look for:

• Beds, chests and dressers, plus office desks and bookcases

A Family Store Since 2014

The store opened in October 2014, started by owners Ruth and Andrew, former dairy farmers who wanted to offer products unique to the area during hard times in farming. It's still run by the family today.
