Silver Tree Marine – Rentals & Dock

Silver Tree Marine runs its seasonal rental and gas dock at 567 Glendale Rd in Oakland on Deep Creek Lake. This is where you pick up a rental pontoon, kayak or paddleboard, fuel up your own boat or rent a dock slip for a visit. Boat sales, service and storage are handled at the company's main office, listed separately as Silver Tree Marine – Sales & Service on Deep Creek Drive in McHenry.

The Rental Fleet

The boat fleet is built around Premier pontoons, from a 22-foot Sunspree with a 90 hp engine for up to 12 people to 25-foot Sunsation models with 150 to 250 hp for up to 15, several of them triple-toons with the power to pull tubes, wakeboards and water skis. Other gear for rent includes:

• Single and tandem kayaks
• Stand-up paddleboards
• Two-person tubes, wakeboards, kneeboards and water skis for adults and kids
• An Aqua Lily Pad, a floating mat that tethers to a dock or boat

Fuel and Dock Slips

Dock staff help with rentals and with fueling your own boat. If you bring a boat to the lake, Silver Tree rents dock slips by the day or for up to ten days; the dock has security cameras and staff on site through the season, and slips can be booked online or through the office.

Before You Rent

The dock and rentals run from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and day rentals can be reserved online. A few rules worth knowing ahead of time:

• The person signing the contract must be 21 and needs a credit card; debit cards aren't accepted.
• Operators need a valid boater's license; Silver Tree may issue a temporary license, up to two per boat.
• Coast Guard-approved life jackets come with every rental and must be worn when towing.
• Boats go out with a full tank and you pay for the fuel used when you return.
• Rental boats have no navigation lights, so they must be off the water between sunset and sunrise.
