About
Sisler Lumber Company is an Appalachian hardwood lumber company that harvests, mills, delivers and ships timber from stands in Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The company dates to 1958 and is headquartered in Keyser, West Virginia.
Roots in the Region
Sisler Lumber began when Glenn Sisler and his brother Ray bought a couple of horses and a portable sawmill and sold blocking lumber to steel mills in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. A new generation of the Sisler family now runs the business.
What It Sells and to Whom
Furniture- and veneer-grade Red Oak, White Oak, Cherry and Ash go to furniture builders, moulding manufacturers, veneer makers and fine paper plants across the eastern United States, Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim. Lower-grade industrial lumber goes to pallet companies, coal mines, railroads and mining operations, and blocking lumber still goes to steel mills. The company's own truck fleet delivers across the eastern United States.
In Garrett County, Sisler Lumber has a yard at 1763 Maryland Highway in Oakland.
