Smoke N Mirrors Photography

Smoke N Mirrors Photography is David Bruffy's photography studio and gallery in historic downtown Oakland, at 114 S 3rd St, Oakland, MD 21550. It offers portrait, commercial and event photography across Western Maryland and the Appalachian region, and the gallery shows a rotating selection of photographic prints and artwork.

Photography Services

Portrait work covers seniors, families and couples, professional headshots, actors, boudoir, passports and creative portraiture. On the commercial side, the studio photographs for architects, designers, builders and realtors, offers business and social media marketing photography, and covers events. A specialty is transportation industry photography for transit agencies, industry conferences and vendors, and David also travels to photograph conferences, conventions and trade shows. Custom picture framing is available too.

The Photographer

Before turning full-time to photography, David spent 27 years leading a public transit system as General Manager, CEO and CFO, and that background shapes his executive portraits and transit work. His fine art galleries feature Deep Creek Lake landscapes, wildlife and macro images, and street scenes from the United States and beyond.

The Gallery

The 2,000-square-foot downtown gallery hosts events and shows, from food and wine pairings to local non-profit and service events, and can seat 50 people concert-style for musical and other small group performances. David also curates a selection of wines and beer there.
