About
Sunset Group is a design-build-service company based in Crofton, Maryland, that works on pools, spas and outdoor living spaces. Its stated mission is to give clients an all-inclusive design, build and service group, with each project approached as a team that includes the client.
The company traces its start to Alan Eng, who began in the pool industry in 1987 and founded Sunset Pool Contractors in 1999. In 2004 the business changed its name to Sunset Group and expanded beyond pools to every element of the outdoor living environment. Mark and Julie Styers have owned the company since 2022.
Sunset Group works for residential homeowners as well as architects, landscape architects, home builders and contractors. Its work covers patios, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, landscaping, water features, ponds, pools and spas. Pool and spa renovations can include coping, tile and skimmer replacement, new pool lights, main drain updates, tanning ledge additions, waterfalls, new interior finishes and new equipment. The service team handles spring openings, winter closings and weekly, bi-weekly or monthly maintenance programs. The company works in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia and Delaware.
