About
Sweet Springs Glamping is a small glamping retreat on a 26-acre farm at 365 Crellin Underwood Rd outside Oakland. Owners Andy and Peggy Tvardzik have set up four distinctive stays, with the bus and The Hayloft each sized for two, making it a natural fit for couples who want a quiet farm base between Deep Creek Lake, Wisp Resort and Swallow Falls State Park.
The Stays
Each accommodation has its own character, so it is worth choosing by the kind of night you have in mind:
- A furnished yurt with modern comforts under a round canvas roof
- The Hayloft, a renovated barn space set up as a rustic escape for two
- A retro-inspired Airstream camper, renovated inside
- A converted 2015 school bus with a queen bed, mini kitchen, shower, air conditioning, blackout blinds and an attached patio with a grill
Every stay has outdoor space for stargazing, and the property offers Starlink Wi-Fi, which helps if you need to stay reachable out in the countryside.
Life on the Farm
Sweet Springs is a working farm. Marked trails run around the whole perimeter, and you may spot deer and the farm's cows along the way, so pack good walking shoes. Fenced-in areas are off-limits to guests, and the hosts ask visitors to respect each other's privacy. Pets aren't allowed.
A New Business With Local Backing
The Tvardziks brought their idea to the Garrett County Department of Business Development a couple of years before opening, and the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting in September 2025. From the farm you are a short drive from downtown Oakland and Swallow Falls, and day trips into West Virginia's Thomas, Davis and Canaan Valley are within reach.
Book through the Sweet Springs website, and bring your hiking shoes for the farm trails.
