The LakeFront Magazine is a monthly magazine covering Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County, with a calendar of events, dining, shopping and live music guides, local business features and community stories. It has been published since January 1991 and is written for visitors, locals and second-home owners alike.
A Garrett County Original
The first edition hit the stands in January 1991. It was created by Skip and Linda Carr, who wanted a publication with comprehensive area information in a fun format and an affordable way for local merchants to advertise. The LakeFront was the first area publication to spotlight local businesses through its "In The Spotlight" feature, and Skip's column "Skip Around Town" is still a regular part of the magazine. Sarah Myers is the current editor-in-chief and owner, and Linda Carr is listed as co-founder.
