The Lazy Bear Gift Shop

The Lazy Bear Gift Shop is a gift and souvenir shop at The Shoppes at The Fort, 1550 Deep Creek Dr in McHenry, close to Deep Creek Lake. It carries local crafts, boutique items and custom Deep Creek Lake souvenirs, so it's an easy place to find a lake-life gift or a little something for your own cabin.

Lake Gifts and Local Crafts

The shop opened in August 2025 and stocks a mix of keepsakes and home goods with a Deep Creek feel:

• Custom Deep Creek Lake souvenirs, including lake map decor, signs, wall art, stickers and bottle openers
• Home decor and gifts with lake and cabin sayings
• Journals and small gifts
• Local crafts and boutique items
• Snacks such as kettle-roasted cinnamon almonds and roasted pecans

You can also shop online through the store's website, which is handy if you want to reorder a favorite lake sign after you've gone home.

Events at The Fort

The Lazy Bear organizes community get-togethers at The Shoppes at The Fort, including sidewalk sales with local shops and food and drink vendors, a Small Business Saturday event, and Coffee, Cold Brews & Car Show cruise-ins featuring classic cars, coffee from Black Hawk Coffee & Kitchen and drinks from Short Story Brewing.
